Mail clubs for 2-year-olds

At 2, the envelope matters more than the letter. Look for the child’s name on the outside, something to hold on the inside, and paper sturdy enough to survive small hands. A personalized letter is largely for you to read aloud — which is fine, as long as you are buying it knowing that.
The cheapest thing that works at this age is a magazine. Highlights High Five is about $4 a month and starts at two — nothing personalised, but it arrives every month with your child's name on it, which is most of the magic at two. Tilly's Letters is the pick if you want a real letter club, and it is the only one we found that lets you add up to three siblings to one subscription at no extra cost.
